호텔 3층에서 짐 던지며 경찰 50명이랑 11시간 밀당한 아저씨 기사로 영어 공부하기 - 싼티영어

1. 밴쿠버 다운타운 한복판 리갈 호텔에서 진짜 영화 같은 일이 벌어졌음.

It was like a scene straight out of a movie at the Regal Hotel right in the heart of downtown Vancouver

2. 오전 11시 반쯤에 어떤 아저씨가 3층 창문 밖으로 물건을 마구 집어 던진다는 신고가 들어온 거야.

Around 11:30 AM, a call came in about some guy chucking stuff out of a third-floor window.

3. 경찰이 출동하니까 이 사람이 방 문을 걸어 잠그고 짱박혀 버린 거지.

When the cops showed up he locked his door and holed up inside

4. 경찰 형님들도 단단히 벼르고 왔는지 협상가에 특공대까지 불러서 무려 50명이 넘게 출동함.

The cops clearly meant business calling in negotiators and the SWAT team with over fifty officers rolling up to the scene

5. 그렇게 11시간 동안이나 대치하다가 밤 10시 10분쯤에 경찰이 진입해서 겨우 체포했어.

After an 11-hour standoff the cops finally moved in at 10:10 PM and took him into custody

6. 잡고 보니 정신 건강 문제로 치료가 필요한 분이라 바로 병원으로 이송됐다고 하네.

Turns out he was dealing with some mental health issues, so they hauled him off to the hospital right away for treatment.

7. 경찰 쪽에서도 “정신 질환 앓는 분들이 다 위험한 건 아닌데, 치료를 제때 못 받으면 이런 일이 생긴다”고 안타까워하더라.

Even the police felt pretty bad for him, saying that not everyone with mental health struggles is dangerous unless they go without treatment.

8. 솔직히 한 명 잡으려고 50명 출동한 게 좀 오버 같긴 한데, 그래도 아무도 안 다치고 끝나서 천만다행임.

To be honest, fifty officers for one guy seems like total overkill, but I’m just glad that nobody got hurt in the end

9. 다운타운 지나갈 때 위에서 뭐 떨어지는지 잘 보고 다녀야겠어.
