First off, around 1 PM near Salmon Valley, a logging truck hauling an empty trailer slammed into an oncoming Chevy pickup.
4. 이 사고로 픽업트럭에 타고 계시던 67세 할아버지가 그 자리에서 돌아가셨어.
A 67-year-old man in the pickup passed away on the spot in the crash
5. 알버타 출신의 29세 트럭 기사는 가벼운 상처만 입었다고 해.
The 29-year-old trucker from Alberta walked away with only minor injuries
6. 근데 비극은 여기서 끝이 아니었어.
But unfortunately, it turns out the tragedy didn't just stop right there.
7. 5시간쯤 뒤에 프린스 조지에서 남쪽으로 50km 떨어진 우드페커 랜딩이라는 곳에서 또 안타까운 사고가 났거든.
Just five hours later, another tragic crash went down at a spot called Woodpecker Landing, about 50 clicks south of Prince George.
8. 이번엔 대형 세미트럭이 잭나이프 현상(트럭과 트레일러가 “ㄱ”자나 “V”자 모양으로 꺾여버리는 아주 위험한 현상)을 일으키면서 픽업트럭을 덮쳤어.
This time around, a massive semi-truck jackknifed and ended up plowing straight into a pickup truck
9. 이 두 번째 사고로 픽업트럭 조수석에 타셨던 69세 할머니가 목숨을 잃으셨고, 운전하시던 77세 할아버지는 다쳐서 병원으로 옮겨지셨어.
In this second crash, a 69-year-old lady in the passenger seat lost her life, while the 77-year-old driver was rushed to the hospital with injuries.
10. 대형 트럭 기사는 다행히 다친 곳은 없다고 하네.
Luckily, the semi-truck driver walked away from the crash without a scratch
11. 지금 그쪽 도로에 눈이 녹아서 진창길이 된 상태라 엄청 미끄럽대.
They say the roads out there are super slick right now because all that melting snow has turned them into total slush.
12. 경찰 측은 하루도 안 돼서 사망 사고가 두 번이나 났다면서, 제한 속도보다 훨씬 천천히 달리고 무조건 조심하라고 당부하고 있어.
With two fatal wrecks in under a day, the police are urging everyone to drive way below the limit and stay extra careful.
