5. 컨벤션 센터 옆 물가에 예쁘게 띄워놓고 육지랑은 보행자 다리로 연결한다는 계획이야.

9. 그런데 돈 많은 사람들만 가는 럭셔리 호텔이 웬 말이냐고 태클 거는 여론도 만만치 않았어.
But there was some serious pushback from people questioning why we're building a luxury hotel just for the wealthy
10. 하지만 시의원들 생각은 달랐어.
But the city councillors had a totally different take on it
11. 어쨌든 호텔이 생기면 지역 경제도 살아나고, 에어비앤비 같은 단기 임대 수요를 호텔이 흡수해 주니까 결과적으로는 장기 세입자들한테 이득이 될 거라는 논리를 펼쳤지.
They basically claimed that the hotel will kickstart the local economy and soak up short-term rental demand like Airbnb, which is a win for long-term renters in the end
12. 밴쿠버가 혁신적인 숙박의 성지가 될 거라는 기대감도 한몫했고.
A big part of it was the hype about Vancouver becoming the go-to spot for innovative lodging.
