4. 레딧(해외 커뮤니티)에 올라온 영상들을 보면 고래가 물기둥을 뿜어내는 순간 제트스키가 프레임 밖에서 날아와서 들이받는 게 찍혔어.

5. 목격자들 말로는 이 사람이 사고 전부터 보트들 사이를 헤집고 다니면서 엄청 위험하게 폭주하고 있었다고 해.
According to witnesses, this guy was driving like a total maniac between boats before the accident
6. 다들 ‘저러다 사고 치겠는데’ 싶었는데 진짜로 엄한 고래를 박아버린 거지.
Everyone was like, “He’s asking for trouble,” and then he actually went and slammed into a totally innocent whale.
7. 충돌할 때 엄청 크고 둔탁한 소리가 났고, 제트스키 타던 사람은 물 위로 튕겨 날아갔어.
There was a massive thud on impact, and the jet skier was sent flying high up into the air.

He took a nasty plunge, screaming for help since he couldn't feel his legs at all and was finally fished out by folks on a nearby yacht
9. 결국 구급대원들이 와서 병원으로 실려 갔는데, 상태가 심각하지만 일단 생명엔 지장이 없는 안정적인 상태라고 하네.
Paramedics eventually rushed him to the hospital and though he’s in bad shape he’s reportedly stable and out of the woods
10. 정작 뺑소니 당한 고래가 다쳤는지는 현재 DFO(캐나다 해양수산부)에서 열심히 조사하고 있어.
The DFO is currently looking into whether the whale that got hit is actually injured
11. 참고로 캐나다 법상 고래 같은 해양 포유류한테는 무조건 최소 100미터 이상, 고래가 쉬고 있거나 새끼랑 있을 때는 200미터 이상 거리를 둬야 하거든.
Just so you know, Canadian law says you’ve gotta keep at least 100 meters away from marine mammals like whales, and make it 200 meters if they’re resting or with their calves.
