3. 아직도 주 전역에 산불이 211개나 불타오르고 있다는 거임.
There are still a whopping 211 wildfires burning all across the province
4. 심지어 그중 100개는 통제 불능(Out of control, 걷잡을 수 없이 번지는 상태)인데도 쿨하게 해제 발표를 때려버렸지 뭐야.
Even with 100 of them completely out of control, they just casually announced lifting the emergency.
5. 원래 지난 8월 8일에 오카나간 호수 근처에서 볼드 레인지(Bald Range) 산불이 동네를 위협하면서 비상사태가 선포됐었거든.
They originally declared a state of emergency back on August 8th when the Bald Range wildfire near Okanagan Lake threatened local communities
6. 근데 이제 이 산불이 더 이상 ‘주의 요망 산불’이 아니라 어느 정도 묶어둔 상태(Being held, 더 이상 확산되지 않게 막아둔 상태)로 바뀌었다고 판단해서 풀었대.
But they lifted it because they figured this wildfire isn’t a wildfire of note anymore and is pretty much being held right now.
7. 그렇다고 소방관들이 짐 싸서 퇴근하는 건 절대 아님.
But that doesn't mean firefighters are packing up and calling it a day.
8. 현장에는 여전히 378명의 소방관, 57대의 중장비, 헬기 10대가 열일 중이야.
Right on site, 378 firefighters and 57 heavy equipment units are still busting their tails alongside 10 helicopters.
9. 꿀같은 휴식을 마치고 돌아온 멕시코 소방관 형님들 100명에 알버타랑 퀘벡에서 온 지원군들까지 다 같이 불길이랑 싸우고 있어.
A hundred Mexican firefighters back from a well-deserved break are fighting the flames alongside reinforcements from Alberta and Quebec.
10. 진짜 고생들이 많으심.
They are really busting their butts out there fighting the fire.
11. 비상사태가 풀렸다고 해서 지금 내려진 대피령이나 경보가 취소되는 것도 아니고, 지역별 자체 비상사태도 그대로 유지돼.
Just because the state of emergency got lifted, doesn't mean evacuation orders or alerts are cancelled, and local states of emergency remain in effect.
12. 그냥 주정부 차원의 엑스트라 권한을 내려놓은 것뿐이랄까?
I guess the provincial government just gave up its extra powers, that is about it.
13. 요즘 날씨가 워낙 덥고 건조해서 산불 위험은 여전히 폼 미친 수준이야.
Since it's been so hot and dry lately, the wildfire risk is still off the charts.
14. 주정부도 상황 봐서 심각해지면 언제든 다시 비상사태 버튼(State of emergency, 정부가 비상 상황에 대응하기 위해 특별한 권한을 발동하는 것)을 누를 준비가 되어 있다고 하네.
