The trial for this case recently started at the B.C. Supreme Court, and security footage of what happened was released.
3. 영상을 보면 검은 옷을 입고 의료용 마스크로 얼굴을 가린 두 명의 범인이 범행을 저지르기 불과 6분 전에 호텔에 도착하는 모습이 찍혀 있어.
The video shows two guys in all black wearing medical masks pulling up to the hotel just six minutes before pulling off the crime.
4. 이들은 아주 태연하게 호텔 앞을 걸어와서 로비로 올라간 다음, 타겟이었던 두 명의 남성이 캐리어를 끌고 나타나기를 기다렸다가 총을 쏘기 시작했지.
They casually strolled right up to the hotel, headed up to the lobby and waited for their two targets to show up rolling their luggage before they started shooting.
5. 피해자들은 밖으로 도망치려고 했지만 결국 참변을 당했어.
The victims tried to run for their lives outside, but ended up meeting a tragic end.
6. 사건 발생 직후에 현장에 도착한 RCMP (캐나다 연방경찰) 소속 경찰관이 법정에서 증언을 했는데, 도착하자마자 쓰러진 피해자들의 상태를 확인하고 탄피 같은 증거들을 보존했다고 해.
An RCMP officer who rushed to the scene right after it happened testified in court, saying he immediately checked on the downed victims and secured evidence like shell casings.
7. 그러고 나서 바로 호텔 지하에 있는 보안실로 가서 영상을 확인했고, 용의자들 인상착의를 다른 경찰들에게 빠르게 공유했어.
Right after that, he headed straight down to the hotel basement security room, checked out the footage, and quickly passed the suspects' descriptions along to other cops.
8. 경찰의 빠른 대처 덕분인지, 범인인 굴심란 사호타와 탄비르 카크는 범행 후 1시간도 채 지나지 않아서 스쿼미시 지역에서 차를 타고 도주하다가 체포됐어.
Thanks to the cops moving fast, the killers Gursimran Sahota and Tanvir Khakh were nabbed in Squamish while fleeing by car, less than an hour after the crime.
9. 검찰에 따르면 이 두 사람의 손과 얼굴에서 화약 반응이 나왔고, 옷에서는 피해자의 혈흔까지 발견됐다고 하네.
According to prosecutors, these two guys had gunshot residue on their hands and faces, and they even found the victims’ blood all over their clothes.
10. 당시 현장에 출동했던 경찰관이 한 명의 피해자라도 살리기 위해 심폐소생술을 하며 끝까지 노력했지만, 안타깝게도 두 명 모두 목숨을 잃고 말았어.
The officer on scene tried so hard doing CPR to save at least one victim, but sadly, both of them passed away.
11. 지금 1급 살인 혐의로 재판이 계속 진행 중인데, 법의 심판을 제대로 받았으면 좋겠다.
They're currently on trial for first-degree murder and I really hope justice gets served properly.
