I don't know if you remember but back in July 2022 there was a horrible shooting outside a hotel in Whistler.

Two people lost their lives in this incident, and the officer who arrested the suspects recently testified in BC Supreme Court.

Right now, two suspects named Gursimran Sahota and Tanvir Khakh are on trial for first-degree murder charges.
4. 사건 당일, 마크 맥마흔이라는 RCMP(캐나다 연방경찰) 소속 경찰관이 검은색 크라이슬러 세단이 범행 차량일 수 있다는 무전을 받고 고속도로에서 잠복근무를 시작했어.
On the day of the incident, RCMP officer Mark McMahon got a radio call about a black Chrysler getaway car, so he set up a stakeout on the highway.
5. 혹시 모를 총격전에 대비해 방탄조끼까지 단단히 챙겨 입었다고 하더라고.
He apparently suited up in a bulletproof vest just in case a shootout broke out
6. 얼마 지나지 않아 문제의 차량을 발견하고 사이렌을 울리며 차를 세웠대.
Before long, he spotted the suspect vehicle, hit the sirens, and pulled it over.
7. 당시 카크가 운전을 하고 있었고, 뒷좌석은 썬팅이 너무 짙어서 처음에 몇 명이 타고 있는지 잘 안 보였다고 해.
Khakh was behind the wheel at the time and the back windows were tinted so dark that you couldn't really tell at first how many people were inside
8. 그런데 뒷좌석에 있던 사호타가 무릎 쪽에 손을 대고 계속 꼼지락거려서, 경찰관이 손을 보이는 곳에 두라고 여러 번이나 경고를 해야만 했대.
But Sahota in the back seat kept fidgeting with his hands near his knees, so the officer repeatedly told him to keep his hands in plain sight.
9. 자칫하면 정말 위험한 상황이 벌어질 뻔했던 거지.
Things could have turned really ugly in a split second.
10. 게다가 다른 경찰관의 증언에 따르면, 체포된 용의자들의 옷과 신발에서 피해자의 것으로 추정되는 핏자국이 발견되었다고 해.
Plus, according to another cop's testimony, they found what's believed to be the victim's blood on the suspects' clothes and shoes.
11. 현장 감식을 담당한 경찰이 오염을 막기 위해 깨끗한 종이를 깔고 신발과 옷가지들을 꼼꼼하게 검사했는데, 혈흔 반응이 나왔다는 거야.
The crime scene cop laid out clean paper to avoid contamination and thoroughly checked their clothes and shoes, only to end up finding bloodstains.
12. 검찰 쪽에서는 이미 피해자의 피가 이 두 사람의 옷과 신발에 묻어 있었다고 밝힌 상태야.
Prosecutors have already confirmed that the victim's blood was on these two guys' clothes and shoes
