2. 하지만 남은 MLA (주 의원) 몇 명은 좋든 싫든 일단 케리-린 핀들레이 대표를 믿고 가보기로 했대.
Still, a few remaining MLAs decided to stick with party leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay, whether they like it or not.
3. 이 남은 의원들은 다가오는 애버츠포드-미션 지역구의 byelection (보궐선거) 결과가 핀들레이의 운명을 가를 거라고 입을 모으고 있어.
The remaining MLAs all agree that the upcoming Abbotsford-Mission by-election will make or break Findlay's career.
4. 한 달 만에 무려 9명이나 탈당하고 그중 5명은 아예 새 당을 차린 마당이라, 핀들레이 입장에서는 이번 선거에서 압도적인 표차로 이겨야만 리더십을 증명할 수 있는 상황이거든.
With nine members quitting in a month and five of them starting a new party, Findlay pretty much needs a landslide victory in this election to prove her leadership.
5. 익명을 요구한 한 의원은 핀들레이가 2024년 선거에서 전임자가 받았던 55%의 득표율을 넘겨야 한다고 꼬집었어.
An anonymous MLA pointed out that Findlay needs to beat the 55 percent vote share her predecessor got in 2024
6. 만약 55%를 못 넘기고 간신히 이기거나 아예 져버리면 당이 더 쪼개질 거라고 내다봤지.
If she barely scrapes by under 55 percent or straight-up loses, he predicted the party will fall apart even more.
7. 반면에 핀들레이를 옹호하는 다른 의원은 “예전에 보수파들이 잠자코 당을 위해 희생했던 것처럼, 지금 불만을 품은 자유파 의원들도 제발 팀플레이 좀 해라”라며 일침을 가했어.
On the flip side, an MLA backing Findlay called out all the disgruntled Liberals to take one for the team, just like conservatives sucked it up back then.
8. UBC 정치학과 스튜어트 프레스트 교수도 이번 선거가 핀들레이에게 죽느냐 사느냐의 갈림길이라고 평가했어.
UBC political science professor Stewart Prest also noted that this election is a make-or-break moment for Findlay.
9. 지면 당연히 물러나야 할 텐데, 핀들레이 스타일 상 끝까지 버티려고 할 수도 있대.
If she loses, she should obviously step down, but knowing Findlay, she might try to cling on to the very end.
