I rounded up all the key promises that each party is pushing, starting with Mayor Ken Sim’s ABC Vancouver, running through the Greens, TEAM, and Liberals, down to Vote Vancouver, COPE, and OneCity.
4. 먼저 제일 핫한 ‘치안’ 문제.
First off, the hottest topic is definitely public safety.
5. ABC는 “범죄율 줄었다, 경찰 지원 빵빵하게 해주겠다”며 성과를 자랑 중이고, 녹색당과 COPE 등은 “경찰 예산만 늘릴 게 아니라 범죄가 일어나는 근본적인 원인을 찾자”고 팩폭을 날리며 맞서고 있어.
ABC is flexing their track record on lowering crime and promising heavy support for the police, while the Greens and COPE are clapping back, saying we should tackle the root causes instead of just throwing money at cops.
6. 세금 관련해서도 의견이 확 갈려.

7. ABC는 2026년 재산세 동결을 내세우며 “세금 안 올릴게” 시전 중인데, 다른 당들은 “빈 껍데기 선심성 공약이다, 인프라나 서비스가 줄어든다”며 빈집세(Empty Homes Tax, 비어있는 집주인에게 매기는 세금)를 올리거나 인플레이션 수준으로 세금을 맞추자고 까고 있지.
ABC is pushing a 2026 property tax freeze, pulling the “no tax hikes” card, but other parties call it an empty gimmick that will just gut city services, pushing to hike the Empty Homes Tax instead, or just match tax rates with inflation.
8. 그리고 마약 문제. 길거리에서 펜타닐(Fentanyl, 강력한 마약성 진통제) 같은 하드 드러그를 피우는 걸 어떻게 할 것이냐, 또 중증 중독자를 강제 구금 시설(Involuntary detention facility)에 넣을 것이냐를 두고 투표(Plebiscite, 국민투표)까지 해.
And when it comes to the drug issue, they’re even holding a public vote on what to do about smoking hard drugs like fentanyl out on the street, and whether to lock severe addicts up in involuntary detention facilities.
9. 보수 쪽은 강경 대응과 시설 수용을 찬성하는 분위기고, 진보 쪽은 “자발적 치료가 먼저다, 예산 낭비다”라며 반대하는 중이야.
Conservatives are leaning toward cracking down and sending folks to forced rehab, while progressives are pushing back hard, saying voluntary treatment comes first and it’s just a total waste of money.
10. 집값 문제도 빠질 수 없지.
You definitely can't leave housing prices out of the conversation either.
11. 다들 주택 공급을 늘리겠다는 건 똑같은데, 개발 규제를 확 풀어서 빨리 짓자는 쪽과, 시유지(시가 소유한 땅)를 활용해 서민들을 위한 진짜 ‘저렴한 임대주택’을 짓자는 쪽으로 나뉘고 있어.
Everyone is on the same page about boosting the local housing supply, but they are totally split between slashing red tape to build fast, and using city land for truly affordable rentals.
12. 기후 변화나 로컬 경제 지원 같은 다른 이슈들에서도 “기업 하기 좋은 도시”를 만들자는 실용주의 노선과 “환경과 커뮤니티가 먼저”라는 진보 노선이 팽팽하게 맞서고 있달까?
On issues like climate change and local business, the pragmatic crowd pushing for a business-friendly city is going toe-to-toe with progressives putting the environment and community first.
